Anemona

Anemona - Glass vases

Anemona (Spanish for anemone) is a system of colorful glass vases inspired by the fascinating marine invertebrate. Captivated by the contemplative characteristics of anemones, like color and translucency, delaO design studio took this starting point to design a very dynamic collection of sculptural vases with endless possibilities.

As designers, finding inspiration in sea creatures with their captivating aesthetic makes us reflect on our impact on other live beings. That is why looking into nature for inspiration makes us appreciate and take care of it.

Anemona is a product design experiment by delaO design studio that explores how color and transparency can interact through different volumes and proportions using the typology of the vase, as, similar to jewelry, its function can be functional yet emotional. By the playful act of stacking different volumes, each configuration brings different multicolored compositions. The system has six different vases that can be combined in 26 different ways.

Each vase is handmade out of templed borosilicate glass by a family of glassworkers in Mexico City.
